NOSE WORK/Scent Work
Nose Work/Scent Work is a competitive sport developed by drug and explosive dog trainers. Instead of training dogs to find drugs or explosives, they are trained to find essential oils or "Target Odors." Dogs learn to search for target odors in containers, interiors, exteriors, vehicles and buried. As the dog and handler team become experiences at finding the target odors they can earn Titles and compete against other teams for placements in various venues such as AKC, UKC and NACSW.
